Tony Aniemeke
Tony Aniemeke began his career as an underwriting officer with Unitrust Insurance Company Limited. He subsequently left Unitrust in 1991 to join Frank O. Harris Insurance Brokers as a Marketing Manager and rose to the position of General Manager in 1997.
He thereafter moved to join the management team of African Development Insurance Company (ADIC) as a Senior Manager coordinating the Brokers Marketing Division; a position he held before joining UBA Insurance in 2004 as Assistant General Manager/Head of Brokers’ Management. Tony subsequently joined UBA Metropolitan Life Insurance Ltd in early 2007 as Divisional Head, Corporate Marketing, where he significantly contributed to the overall growth of the company.
Tony’s Insurance experience spanned over 18 years and across key areas of risk management practice including underwriting, marketing and brokerage operations. He left UBA Metropolitan Life in 2010 as the General Manager, Corporate Marketing to join Heirs Insurance Brokers Ltd as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
Emmanuel Okotete
Emmanuel Emuejevoke Okotete is currently the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Magnificent Investment Company Nigeria Limited of 22A Adeleke Adedoyin Street, Off Kofo Abayomi Road, Victoria Island, Lagos. The company is involved in Financial Advisory Services, Business Consulting, Oil & Gas and Real Estate Development since 2007.
Prior to coming on board Magnificent Investment Company Nigeria Limited, Emmanuel was the Special Assistant (Strategy, Policy, Finance & Admin) to the Managing Director/CEO, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from November 2003 to December 2006. He functioned as Chief Of Staff in the Office of the MD/CEO.
From December 1996 to November 2003, Emmanuel was with the United Bank for Africa Plc where he was an Assistant General Manager with responsibility for developing the Oil & Gas business in the Energy Division of the Corporate Banking Sector at the Head Office in Lagos. In UBA his job summary was to manage all forms of financial relationships between existing customers and the Bank in ensuring that excellent services and tailored products are delivered whilst prospecting for new ones. The target market covered Lagos, Port Harcourt, Warri, Eket, and Bonny. As at October 2003 the total portfolio/balance sheet under his management was over N10 billion (Naira facilities) US$120 million (US Dollar facilities). Hitherto, Emmanuel was with the National Corporate Division of the same Corporate Banking Sector from December 2, 1996 until July 2000 when he moved over to the Energy Division. Whilst in the National Corporate Division he had responsibility for managing relationships in the following industries, namely: Packaging, Plastics, Household and Building Materials, Cement, Footwear etc.
Between April 1992 and November 1996 he was with Citizens International Bank, (now Spring Bank Plc) where his job functions included both Corporate and Commercial Banking. While in Corporate Banking he had responsibility for developing the Multinational, Manufacturing, and Trading Business segments. The Board of Directors appointed him a member of the Bank’s Credit Committee (BCC) in 1994. The high point of his career in Citizens Bank was in setting up the bank’s Apapa Branch from the scratch in 1995. From a zero balance sheet the branch grew to over N500 million in balance sheet size, broke-even within five months of operations and became one of the most profitable branches within the banks network of 22 branches in 1996.
Emmanuel was from August 1989 to March 1992 with the Management Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. (now Accenture). While in Arthur Andersen & Co., he was involved in the Design, Development and Implementation of an Account Receivable System for Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) under the Commercialisation and Reorganization Project in 1989 – 1990. Other projects he participated in include the Strategic Planning, Organization Design, Credit Process Review and Profit Improvement Programs for several Commercial Banks. In addition he was involved in the Design and Development of a Job Evaluation and Organization Design project for Nigerian-German Pharmaceutical Company Plc (then Nigeria Hoechst Plc). He conducted a market survey on the Nigerian Automobile industry for Automobile Peugeot, France and did a top level Organization Design/Diagnostic Review for the West African Portland Cement Company Plc.
He had a brief stint with Insight Communications Limited (an Advertising company) as a Client Service Executive from January to July 1989. He started his career as a School Teacher responsible for teaching Government, English Language, Literature in English and Economics for various classes in Baptist High School Eku, Delta from 1985 to 1988.
Emmanuel has a degree in Political Science & Public Administration from the University of Benin, Benin City and an MBA from the same institution. He has attended numerous courses/conferences both in Nigeria and Overseas. He was the Best Graduating Student in his first degree class, in addition to winning the Federal Government of Nigeria Merit Award for Academic Excellence. He is married with children.
John Okorocha
John Okorocha surmounted various challenges, to start Isocare Group Inc. USA in 1996, with the aim of building a global, multifaceted business enterprise. Currently, he serves as the President/Chief Executive Officer of Isocare, Inc. Hawthorne, California, USA, specializing in patients with traumatic injuries and auto-immune disorders; President of Isocare SNF, Inc. USA, a 94-bed nursing home; dba Isocare Convalescent Hospital, Glendale, California, USA; Chairman, Isocare West Africa Ltd., Nigeria, a beverage, beauty and plastics company and Chairman 9Ja Ltd., Lagos, the parent company of 9ja-TV, a pidgin English television station.
Mr. Okorocha’s distinction lies, among other things, in his astute business skills, spirited explorations of new frontiers, forging transnational links between the opportunities in America and Nigeria, and establishing veritable platforms for their fruitful realization. In this alone, he sets the bar for other aspiring Nigerian entrepreneurs. As evident, his ventures derive from a hardy spirit of enterprise and speak volumes in ways that encourage progressive economic and social transformations.
